Ann Barton, born Ann Jaco on November 28, 1939, in Coffeeville, MS, passed away on June 19, 2024 in Southaven, MS. Ann will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and loved ones. She was a beloved homemaker whose joy came from ensuring the happiness of those around her.


Throughout her life, Ann's warm and caring nature shone brightly. Her family get-togethers were a testament to her love and commitment as she took great pleasure in bringing everyone together. An exceptional cook, Ann delighted in preparing meals for others, often putting their needs before her own by indulging only in the sweets she lovingly created.


Blessed with a delightful sense of humor and a deep faith, Ann kept those around her entertained and inspired. Her quick wit and kind heart endeared her to many, leaving behind cherished memories of laughter and joy.


In her free time, Ann found joy in simple pleasures like sewing, cooking delicious meals, tending to her yard, and helping out at church with the children. Her selfless acts of kindness and unwavering faith were a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her.


Ann's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children and grandchildren whom she cherished above all else. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to live on through them.


Ann is now reunited with her parents and husband Charles Barton in eternal peace. Additionally, her sister Kate Koonce; son Troy Barton preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Donna (Lee) Hughey; grandchildren Anna Barton, Catherine Barton, Brandon Hughey, Tori Hughey; sisters Carolyn Byford, Louise (John) Byford; brother-in-law Hal (Patsy) Barton along with many other relatives, friends, and church family who will deeply mourn her loss.


Services honoring Ann's life will be held on June 24th, 2024, starting with a visitation at 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch. The burial will take place at 3:30 PM at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven.


Ann's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her gentle soul. May she rest in peace surrounded by the love she so freely shared during her time on earth.
