Billy Gene Glover

September 24, 1939 — October 8, 2025

Memphis, TN

Billy Gene Glover, born in Bear Creek TX September 24, 1939.  He is survived by his beloved wife Vaudine (Moore) Glover, daughter Darlene Johnson (Bobby) and twin sister Barbara Jane Dugger, three grandchildren, Shane, Joshua, and Lea-Shea; six great-grand grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents Judon and Lillie (Joyce) Glover, brothers Frank Glover, and Don Glover, sister Elizabeth Reed.

Billy is a Texas native and proud of it - and he was always wanting to go home to Texas to see his family and friends.  We all have good memories of Billy.  He was a lot of fun, a bit mischievous at time, but in a playful way.  We will cherish these memories - they will be held dear and never forgotten.

Billy was a real person who made mistakes, just like we all do, but he did his best.   He was a hard worker and did his best to provide for his family.  He moved his family from Dallas to Memphis so he could provide a better life for them, and he found good job opportunity as a crane operator.  After retiring, he started his own lawn business that grew by leaps and bounds by word of mouth.  He refused to sit still and had to stay busy.  He loved gardening and did so until he just couldn't.  We all loved the fresh home grown veggies he grew.  He always shared his bounty with family and neighbors, and he was always willing to help others.  He was loved by many.

Today we come together to lay him to rest.  We will think of him often, and he will be deeply missed.  But he is in no more pain, no more suffering.  He is at peace and in the presence of our Lord and Savior who heard him say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant.  Welcome Home."
