Billy Ray Stribling, affectionately known as "Gabby," passed away on October 10, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and vibrant spirit. Born on March 5, 1946, in Water Valley, Mississippi. He attended Water Valley High School, he enjoyed life and treasured the friendships he made with the Class of 1964 . Billy spent over 40 years dedicated to his career at Otis, Dover and Thyssenkrupp Elevator, where he forged lasting friendships along the way.
Billy's personality was nothing short of larger than life. As a jokester and storyteller, he effortlessly brightened the days of those around him. He had a heart that overflowed with love for his family and friends, consistently bringing joy to everyone he encountered. Known for his encouraging words and keen listening ear, Billy never met a stranger; rather, he welcomed everyone into his circle with open arms and a warm smile. He was particularly proud of his faith and loved being the best greeter at church, committed to the Lord in every aspect of his life.
Family meant everything to Billy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Stribling, and their two children, Billie Ann McKee and Jay (Casey) Stribling. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Samuel Kyle McKee and Thomas Avery McKee, who will remember him as a grandfather full of love and laughter. Billy also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, Nita, Sandy, Joey, Heath, and Lauren, who will carry forward the stories and memories he imparted to them.
Billy's hobbies included cutting the grass, spending peaceful moments rocking on the patio, and cheering on high school football games, moments that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. He loved Ole Miss football games, and spur-of-the-moment vacations, and was known for turning quick trips to the store into hour-long conversations meant to uplift others.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lovie Stribling, his son, Michael Stribling, and siblings, Barbara Faye (Bob) Parker and Bobby Joe Stribling. He also leaves behind the cherished memory of his nephew, Bubba, who will join in honoring the legacy of this incredible man.
Billy Ray Stribling will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his large spirit, generous heart, and the countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
