Brenda Stewart Hudson, born on March 19, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, left this world on February 6, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi. She was a beacon of love and light to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Brenda dedicated many years of her life to her career at Bill Gorman of State Farm Insurance Company before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Yet, it was not just her professional life that defined her; it was her unwavering devotion to her family that truly shaped the essence of who she was. Her sons, Gregory and Derek, always felt the warmth of their mother’s love and the depth of her support. Brenda never missed a game, attending every one of her sons' ball games, cheering them on with the bubbly sparkle of joy that she carried in her heart. She was intertwining in her sons' lives, instilling values shaped by her great moral compass, and raising them to be dedicated spouses to their wives.
Brenda's love extended beyond her immediate family to her cherished grandchildren, Cody, Ainsley, Avery, Hallie Grace, and Harper. She found immense joy in being present at all their events, sharing laughter, stories, and creating beautiful memories. Her commitment to her church family added another layer to her life. She cherished her church community deeply, serving them with the same kindness and love that she shared with her family.
Brenda was known for her sweet demeanor and kind heart, always busy yet never too busy to extend a helping hand or share a smile. She found joy in traveling, spending time with her bunco girls, and nurturing the bonds of friendship and community. Her spirit was infectious, and everyone who met her felt the warmth radiating from her gentle soul.
She is survived by her loving sons, Gregory (Deana) Cathey and Derek (Penelope) Hudson; her beloved grandchildren, Cody Cathey, Ainsley Cathey, Avery Cathey, Hallie Grace Hudson, and Harper Hudson; and her brother, Rusty (Judy) Stewart, along with a host of other family and friends who were lucky enough to be touched by her kindness.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Mary Stewart, and her sister, Jane Stewart. While they may have left this earthly realm, their influence and love will always echo through Brenda's enduring spirit.
As we remember Brenda Stewart Hudson, we carry forward the lessons she taught us about love, dedication, and kindness. Her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
