With a heart as vibrant as a rainbow and a personality that could light up the gloomiest of days, Carrol "Shredder" Scales made her grand exit from this world on August 30, 2025. Born on September 29, 2008, in the charming city of Memphis, TN, she turned Southaven, MS into a canvas of creativity during her unforgettable years here on Earth.
Carrol was a beacon of brilliance, known for her wild antics and deliberate hilarity that would leave everyone around in fits of laughter. She was a social justice warrior, always armed with facts and armed with her signature catchphrase, “Well, actually…” to enlighten her friends and family with notable flair—complete with references just so you could check her sources!
As a proud member of the Raven and Lily crew, Carrol spread laughter like confetti, proving that life is meant for giggles and good times. She was a master at delivering the best bits of humor, and her knack for storytelling captivated all who were lucky enough to be within earshot.
Her days were jubilantly spent conquering both video game bosses in Hollow Night with her mother, Ashley, and manipulating the laws of gravity as she dashed about on all fours at a speed that could make even the fastest squirrels envious. Climbing trees was merely an act of pure adventure for her, while dreaming of the next scoop on the TV show "House" always kept her awake during the night, though she cherished a good nap whenever the universe allowed.
Carrol will be profoundly missed, especially by her adoring mother, Ashley (Houston) Mazzanti, her father, Robert Scales, and her spirited sister, Lily Burton. The laughter-loving gal is also survived by her loving aunt, Amber Houston, three uncles: the adventurous Travis Houston, the humorous Blake Houston, and the mischievous Benjamin Houston, plus two cool cousins, Joanah and Dean Houston, and doting grandparents, Paul and Cheryl Houston.
Her proudest accomplishments are a tribute to her exceptional ability to make anyone feel at home—never met a stranger indeed! Carrol was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge, always ready to share bits and pieces of wisdom or laugh until her sides ached. As we bid farewell to this beautifully animated soul, let us remember to honor her legacy by embracing the joy she brought into our lives, living boldly and humorously, and perhaps, just a little bit more goofy. Carrol "Shredder" Scales—your laughter echoes on, as you climb the highest branches of the great beyond!
