SOUTHAVEN, MS –
Cary Gaylon Smith
, 56, of Southaven, MS was born on October 9, 1959, in Memphis, TN to James D. and Mary S. Smith. Cary went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.
Cary was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his father, James, his sister Sidona Ryan (Patrick), two brothers, Lyndon Smith (Karen) and Nelson Smith (Emily), as well as five nieces, nephews and three great nephews.
Cary was a long time employee of Nike, an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an inspiration to all around him during his short battle with cancer. He supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude in his honor.
Visitation will be at
11 a.m.
, with a celebration of life service at
12 p.m.
