Catherine Elizabeth Raiteri, known lovingly as Cathy (Katie) (Nanny), graced this world with her vibrant spirit on January 28, 1943, in Oklahoma. With a steadfast heart and an unwavering spirit, she journeyed through life, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness until her peaceful departure on August 22, 2025, in Hernando, surrounded by the love of her family.

A retiree from Sherwin Williams, Cathy devoted her days to work with the same diligence that defined her very essence. Her legacy is not merely built upon her career but stands firmly upon the pillars of family, faith, and community. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her—a woman who embraced every stranger as a friend. With infectious enthusiasm, Cathy was known as everyone’s Nanny, the embodiment of overflowing love and compassion.

Cathy's joyfully engaging personality shone brighter than the sun. She didn't just meet people; she embraced them, and her laughter filled every room she entered. Her love for life blossomed through cherished memories—those tender moments spent preparing for church, donning her beloved clip-on earrings, or organizing sleepovers for her girls. Cathy transformed those moments into treasured memories, weaving bonds of love and laughter that would echo through the lives she touched.

As a yard sale queen, she possessed a unique talent for uncovering hidden gems—turning others' cast-offs into her cherished treasures. Outdoors, she reveled in the company of her fur baby, Case, often taking him to the dog park or joining him at the lake. In addition to her love for dogs, extracting joy from the simple pleasures of life, Cathy’s heart also harbored a fond affection for cows, nurturing gentle connections to the creatures and the land that surrounded her.

Her unwavering dedication to family was her proudest accomplishment. Cathy was the loving wife of Anthony “Tony” Raiteri Sr., walking together through 64 beautiful years of marriage, side by side as partners in life. Together, they raised three sons—Anthony “Little Tony” Jr., Russell (Veronica), and Kurt Raiteri—instilling values of hard work and love in each of them. Through joyous celebrations and challenging times alike, they formed an unbreakable bond, nurtured and filled with love.

Cathy took immense pride in her granddaughters, Amber (Matt) Dykes and Adriana (Tucker) Burris. She also leaves behind a step-grandson, Travis Thaxton. Her heart swelled as she embraced her great granddaughters, Brylee, Blakelee, Everlee, Collins Kate, and Hazelee, pouring love into every moment shared and every story told.

Yet, her exquisite journey was not without loss. Cathy remembered her parents, Edward and Frances Hall, alongside her sisters Rosemary and Theresa, and her favorite grandson, Rusty Raiteri, who now shine on in cherished memories and the stories passed down through generations. Alongside her surviving siblings, Ed Hall, Jerry Hall, and Ruth Smith, she embodied strength and resilience—a testament to a woman who faced life head-on with courage and grace.

Cathy was also marked by her strong Catholic faith, which served as the cornerstone of her existence and guided her actions throughout her years. It was this unwavering belief that provided her with solace and strength, allowing her to connect deeply with her community, friends, and family alike.

In all her endeavors, Catherine Elizabeth Raiteri lived with a heart full of passion and a soul rich in love. Her memory will forever resonate among the hearts she touched, reminding us of the beauty of connection and the profound impact of a life well-lived. Cathy, may you rest in peace, comforted by the memories of joyful days past and the love that surrounds you now.
