Dalton Gordon Harris, lovingly known to family and friends as "D," unexpectedly passed away on June 30, 2026, at Regional One. Born on June 22, 2000, in Tennessee, his twenty-six years were marked by a presence that could never go unnoticed, a personality so profound and a heart so generous that it left impressions wherever he went.
From his earliest days, Dalton drew the world to him by simply being himself—unapologetically authentic, irresistibly humorous, and endlessly kind. A soul you rarely come across, Dalton had the biggest heart. He brought joy wherever he went, lighting up rooms with his laughter and buoyant spirit. “He always made you laugh,” those who loved him would recall; his charisma was undeniable, and his willingness to help others—sometimes even at his own expense—knew no bounds. Unique and outgoing, he was never afraid to be himself, and he wore his individuality with pride.
Dalton loved his family fiercely. Memories abound of happy days spent together. His mom fondly remembers the hours shared, controller in hand, as they played Halo and Star Wars, moments stitched together with joy and a special kind of closeness. His dad holds dear the memory of their Disney trip, where Dalton took his nephews under his wing, making magical days in the parks and by the pool even more memorable. Thoughtful to the core, Dalton delighted in bringing happiness to children—whether it was finding just the right souvenir for a friend’s child, or, as on that trip, finding a way to fit a giant Stitch toy into the journey home. That adventure closed with a father and son, hands together under a gas station canopy, trying to coax life back into a broken-down truck—one last quiet hour to cherish, a memory now held forever dear.
His siblings found in Dalton not just a brother but also a constant and calming spirit. Whether it was his brothers or sisters, or the nieces and nephews who so looked up to "Uncle D," he always seemed to have time. He lived on what the family called "Dalton Time"—he would be there (you just never knew exactly when), bringing with him the warmth and fun that only he could share.
Dalton’s circle was wide and deep. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends mourn his passing, all having felt the profound reach of his kindness. His friends remember him as the kindest person, assuring his mother that his heart was unmatched, always ready to offer comfort or laughter. Even the family’s feline companions, Cat and Stripes, were part of the loving orbit that surrounded Dalton.
He is survived by his father, David Harris and step-mom Mandy; his mother, Jan Moore and step-father Jimmy, his sisters, Alicia, Dallas, and Brittany; his brothers, Preston, and Clark; his grandmothers, Martha Jo Young and Carolyn Harris; nieces and nephews who adored him; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a world of friends. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy—a legacy built not on years but on the love, joy, and light he so freely gave.
Dalton now joins in rest his grandfathers, Jerry Harris and Jean Young, whose memories live on in each shared story and silent moment.
Family and friends are invited to visit and celebrate Dalton’s remarkable life. A visitation will be held on July 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Heartland Church, 3580 Getwell Rd, Southaven, MS 38672, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. at the same location.
Dalton’s presence, his laughter, his unmistakable spirit leave the world a bit brighter for those who were lucky enough to love him. Though his time was far too short, his impact is eternal, woven into the hearts of those who will forever miss their beloved "D."
