Dee Ann Scheurer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world on February 15, 2026, at the age of 81. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love that she devoted herself to nurturing throughout her life. Dee was born on October 6, 1944, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, and later made her home in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
In her 51 years of marriage, Dee shared a profound bond with her loving husband, LeRoy Scheurer. Together, they created a life filled with love and kindness, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Their relationship was a beautifully woven tapestry of laughter and support, marked by disagreements settled with ease and the knowledge that love reigned supreme.
Dee was a dedicated educator, serving as a Teacher and International Sunday School Editor for the Church of God of Prophecy in Cleveland, TN. Her passion for teaching extended into the writing of children's literature, where her gentle soul and caring nature flourished, inspiring countless young minds. Moreover, she was known for her role as a Daycare Assistant Director, a position that exemplified her fervent love for children and her unparalleled ability to connect with them.
Her personality sparkled with wit and mischief, as she was a true firecracker with a heart of gold. Dee was known for her generosity and her willingness to help anyone, as she cherished the opportunity to care for others. She loved cooking and would often prepare meals for parents in her community from the tender age of 12, showcasing her innate desire to nurture those around her. Her talent in baking extended to creating magnificent wedding cakes, always made with love.
Dee's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her Loving Husband of 51 years LeRoy Scheurer and cherished daughter, Melissa (Steve) Moore, and her adored grandchildren: Gracen Mathis, Garrett Moore, Shelby Moore, ShayLee Utterback, Jacob Moore, Jackson Moore, and Leela Moore. Dee delighted in her role as a great-grandmother to Kylan Mathis, Liam Mathis, Lilly Brooks, and Lucas Utterback. She found immense joy and fulfillment in creating a warm and inviting home, not just for her immediate family but for all who entered her doors.
Dee's life was a testament to humility and compassion; she loved everyone more than herself and made it a mission to ensure that those she encountered felt special. She held firm in her faith, loving Jesus with unwavering sincerity and knowing in her heart that her Savior loved her in return.
In mourning her loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, honoring the memories she has gifted to all of us. Dee Ann Scheurer is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Edna Boettcher, and her brother Charles and Phyllis Boettcher.
Viewing and funeral services will be held on February 23, 2026, at Abundant Grace Ministries in Collierville, TN, with burial taking place at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, the following day.
Dee Ann Scheurer’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, a gentle reminder of the power of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
