Don Parker, affectionately known as "Papaw" to those who held him dear, passed away on May 21, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 16, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, Don lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and a spirit devoted to helping others.
A godly and faithful man, Don was the steadfast protector of his family and a pillar of strength and kindness to all who knew him. His life was a testament to his values; he cherished his role as a husband and would do anything for his sweet wife, Denean Parker. His love extended beyond his immediate family to anyone in need, offering help without hesitation. Above all, Don loved God, America, and his family with all his heart.
Known for his warm, loving personality, Don found joy in simple pleasures and hobbies that showcased his dedication and skill. Fishing brought him peace and connection to nature, while his passion for restoring and painting cars, a fire truck, and planes demonstrated his meticulous craftsmanship and creativity. His church community was a cornerstone in his life, providing spiritual nourishment alongside his beloved family.
Don’s greatest pride came from being a Papaw—a title he treasured above all else. He leaves behind a large and loving family who were the light of his life. His wife, Denean Parker, stands as a testament to their enduring bond. Their children—Jeremy Parker (Brianna), Jason Parker, Bert Smith (Jennifer), Amanda Smith (Eddie), Dean Smith (Kelly), Melissa Smith (Robert), and Jacob Foret (Mary)—carry forward his legacy of faith and love. Don's heart also embraced his grandchildren: Ella, Megan, Reid, Jordan, Jackson, Jagger, Stephanie (Zak), Steven, Kenny-Dean, Vance, Cody, Owen, Keaton, Braydan, and Easton, as well as great-grandchildren: Maylin, Lukas, Colson, Sophia, and sister Dorothy Myers, who will forever remember his gentle guidance and warm smile.
