Eloise M Byrd, born on June 10, 1933, left this world peacefully on August 20, 2026, with family. Throughout her 93 years, she wove a tapestry of kindness, warmth, and enduring love—a legacy cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Eloise was the beloved daughter of Floyd and Eva Jessie McCachren, and the sister of Martha Lee and John McCachren, who preceded her in death. Their memories remained alive in Eloise’s heart every day, warm threads in the fabric of her own family’s story.
As a mother, Eloise was steadfast and compassionate, nurturing her daughters Joyce Via and Amber Barker with unconditional love and gentle guidance. The loss of her son, Dennis Sanders, was very recent.
Her role as a grandmother brought her incomparable joy, and her grandchildren—Don Via, Debbie Via, Jeff Sanders, Jessica Kilzer, Joe Kilzer, Jackie McMullan, and Coty Barker—were each cherished for their individuality and accomplishments. The family’s next generation bloomed under Eloise’s tender care, and she delighted in spending time with her great-grandchildren, whose laughter, stories, and milestones gave her endless pride. Among them, Tommy McKee Jr., Jacob McKee, Damion McMullan, Whitney Lyons, John Lyons, Savanah White, Eli Barker, Mary Catalano, Vince Catalano, Meghan Johnson, Justin Johnson, Joey Kilzer, Cole River Kilzer, Emma Kilzer, Gunner Kilzer, Hunter Sanders, Neil Sanders, Cooper Lyons, Elsie Lyons, Hazel McKee, Bowen McKee, Jetzyn McKee, Blane McMullan, Elizabeth McMullan, Skylah Johnson, Jaz'myn Johnson, Ja'kobe Johnson, December Johnson, and Tatum Catalano were each treasured deeply. While her great-grandchildren Blake Sanders and Cheyenne White passed before her, their spirits remained close to her heart.
For forty years, Eloise graced her community as a dedicated hairstylist. Her skill and gentle touch made her salon a place of beauty, friendship, and conversation. In her capable hands, clients didn’t just leave with a refreshed appearance—they left with lighter spirits and fond memories. Her work was never just a job; it was an extension of her natural gift for caring for others.
Eloise’s love for life’s simple joys brought her delight until her final days. She loved nature—finding magic in the world around her, whether a blooming flower or a crisp breeze. There was nothing quite like watching the sun rise, a ritual that started her days with hope and gratitude. She found happy moments sipping coffee, savoring sweet candies, and, above all, sharing laughter with her grandchildren on the basketball court. Those hours spent playing together were more than just games; they were moments of connection, laughter, and life lessons passed gently from grandmother to grandchild.
To know Eloise was to be welcomed into her warmth. Her smile, her generosity, and her unwavering spirit leave behind an indelible imprint on those she touched. She navigated life’s joys and sorrows with grace, seldom without a word of encouragement or a bit of wisdom, always making those around her feel seen and valued.
As her family gathers to honor her legacy, they remember not just the years she lived but the love she gave and the memories she shaped. Eloise M Byrd’s story will echo through generations—carried on by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who felt her kindness. Her journey among us may have ended, but her loving presence endures—in every sunrise, each sweet treat, and every shared moment on a basketball court.
Though goodbyes are never easy, Eloise will be remembered always, and her light will continue to guide her family, today and always.
