Emmet Leon Carney, Jr., known affectionately as Lee, passed away peacefully in Olive Branch, MS, surrounded by his loving family on February 26. He was born on February 23, 1947, in Memphis, TN.
Lee led a fulfilling life as the owner and operator of Presto Printing Company in Memphis. His dedication to his work was matched only by his passion for exploring new places and experiences with his loved ones. Saturdays were reserved for creating lasting memories – whether trying out a new restaurant, cheering on his favorite Mississippi State football team, or enjoying the thrill of a golf match.
His curiosity knew no bounds; he took pleasure in reading extensively on diverse topics, delving into music discoveries, researching various subjects, and admiring the artistry of bands and artists. Geography and history held a special place in his heart.
Not only was Lee hardworking and dedicated to his career, but he also possessed a laid-back and humorous personality that endeared him to everyone he met. He had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever he went – never meeting a stranger along the way.
Lee is reunited in peace with his parents Emmet Leon Carney, Sr., and Frances Evelyn (Shields) Carney. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished moments for his surviving family members: his beloved wife Nancy (Ross) Carney; children Jennifer Shea, Stephanie Daily, Clay Carney, Matthew Carney, Kelley Wildeman; siblings Sandra Webb, Debbie Lillard, Robert Carney; eight adoring grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Services to honor and celebrate Lee's life will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. A Visitation will take place on February 29 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In the tapestry of life that Lee woven with love and laughter, may his spirit live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear Lee.
