Ernest Hampton

October 19, 1961 — January 3, 2025

Ernest “Ernie” Lloyd Hampton went to be with our Lord and Savior at age 63 on January 3, 2025, in Memphis, TN. Ernie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, NASCAR , football , family, and his very strong work ethic.

Ernie was born on October 19, 1961, to Donald M. and Vera M. Hampton (Walker) in Lafayette, Indiana.

Ernie resided in Southaven, MS with his wife Christina “Chris” Hampton. Ernie and Chris were married 31 1/2 years.

Ernie had a battle with serious medical issues in recent years and showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite everything Ernie came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end. Not only that, but Ernie also showed us all what a true fighter really is. Every day was a new challenge for Ernie that he took on with dignity and determination.

Preceded in joining the Lord: Mother and Father, and sibling Donna.

Ernie Hampton is survived by his wife Chris Hampton. His two daughters Amanda Brooke Daniel (Hampton) and Morgan Sheree Anderson (Hampton), both sons in law Jeffrey Daniel and Hunter Anderson. His six grandchildren Blayden, Reagan, Evan, Jacob, Bailey, and Jozilyn. His three siblings Sandy, Connie, and Rod. Ernie was also cherished by many other relatives and many dear friends.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16th,2025 at the Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home located at 290 Goodman Road East in Southaven, Mississippi beginning at 11:30 AM.
