Gary Lee Kieffner, Sr.

Gary Lee Kieffner, Sr, a faithful husband, devoted father, and beloved grandfather, passed away on August 8, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 82. Born on January 26, 1943, in Leachville, Arkansas, Gary's life was characterized by a profound dedication to his family and friends with an unwavering commitment to his craft as a pharmacist and cotton farmer.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary; his son Gary Lee Kieffner Jr (Dana), their children Zach, Tyler, and Connor; his daughter Theresa Kieffner Hargrove (Christer), their children Hudson, Samuel, Mary-Morgan, and Melody; his son Ben Kieffner (Rachel), their children Brennen, Kaylie, Mackenzie, Nolan, Gavin, and Garrett; his son Joe Kieffner (Christen), and their children Dakota, Naomi, Josiah, Savannah, Nathaniel, Katherine, Charlotte, and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and lval Mae (Brickey) Kieffner.

Gary's career spanned 56 years, during which he earned the affection and respect of many. After graduating from Elaine High School at near the top of his class, he went on to receive a pharmacy degree from the University of Arkansas Medical Center. Although remarkably brilliant and intuitive, Gary preferred a quiet existence, thriving in one-on-one conversations rather than the spotlight. His practical and solution focused mindset extended to every area of his live. Whether it be motors, radios, or crafting something new in the kitchen, Gary found a way to solve every problem.

Family was the cornerstone of Gary's life, and he took immense pride in his role as a husband and father. He was married for 56 years to his beloved wife, Rosemary (Lankheit) Kieffner, who stood by his side through every season of life. Gary's dedication to his family was evident. He was always ready to support and sacrifice, placing their happiness and success above all else.

From the latest fast-food special (always looking for a deal) , to cheering on his Razorbacks (Woo Pig Sooie), to playing on the floor with his grandchildren, Gary found a way to make even the simplest moments count. Often these simple moments took an unexpected turn. Among the treasured memories shared by his family was a trip to Greer's Ferry Lake where his casting skills landed a hook in his own head making him the catch of the day in the emergency room.

But we have saved the most significant and most life-changing story for the last. In the last few months of his life, he yielded his whole life to the Lord, Jesus Christ. In doing so, God placed all of Gary’s sins on the cross and all of Christ’s righteousness on Gary - the Holy Spirit birthing him with eternal life and into the kingdom of God.

Jude 1:24-25: “Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever, Amen.

Psalm 107:8-9: “Oh that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”

Don’t wait my friends, trust in the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of sins for today is the day of salvation.

Services will be held on Sunday, August 31st at Central Church, 6100 Getwell Rd, Southaven, MS 38672. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 6:00pm.
