Glenda Gale Stricklin

Glenda Gale Stricklin, born Glenda Gale Arnett, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi, after a long battle with her health, surrounded by her four children and other loved ones. She was born on May 26, 1942, in Corinth, Mississippi. To those who knew and loved her best, she was also “Grandma,” a name that speaks to the warmth, comfort, and deep devotion she brought to her family.

Glenda will be remembered as a woman who poured herself into her home and into the people she loved. She wanted to be the best homemaker, mother, and wife she could be, and her family knew that she fulfilled that calling with great love and faithfulness. She also thrived to learn more about God and Jesus, and her faith shaped the example she set each day. Her family treasures the lasting gift of that example, sharing that she is the reason each of her children are saved.

She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Glenda loved butterflies, sewing, puzzles, word searches, and coloring. She especially enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren, creating moments that became treasured memories for those gathered around her. She was also proud of learning accounting, and one of her greatest joys was seeing each of her children graduate from college and go on into careers that help people.

The memories her children hold close reflect the loving spirit she carried throughout her life. Randy cherished the memory of calling his mom late at night. Cindy remembered walking into her room and being greeted by the biggest smile. Sheri remembered how grateful Glenda was for everything. James remembered her playing games with the children, filling ordinary days with laughter and togetherness.

Above all, Glenda’s life was centered on family. She is survived by her son James Stricklin and his wife, Sandra; her son Randy Stricklin and Candy; her daughter Sheri Ledford and her husband, Kevin; and her daughter Cindy Spivey and her husband, Randy. She also leaves behind a large and loving family of 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, each of whom carries forward a part of her love and legacy.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jeannette, Martha, Carol, and Woody. Their memory remained part of the story of her life, and now she is reunited with them.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Glenda at visitation on September 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, Mississippi 38671. A funeral service will follow.
