. Mr. Jenkins worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for twenty years prior to his retirement. He also held his certification as an EMT. He could be called a “History Buff” due to his love of historical eras, especially during the Civil War and War World II. Mr. Jenkins was a very humble gentleman, with an interesting personality. He was the definition of a man’s man and loved people. He would visit and talk with anyone he met for hours. He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Billie and an amazing father to his daughter, Sonia. Mr. Jenkins will truly be missed by all those whom he shared his life with.

Mr. Jenkins leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Billie Jenkins of Southaven, MS; one daughter, Sonia Whitman and her husband Brian of Horn Lake, MS; and one sister, Jane Graziano of Lecant, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe Jenkins, Sr. and Lucille Bailey Jenkins; and brother, Jerry Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and memorials in honor of Mr. James Monroe Jenkins, Jr., be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).

There is no funeral services for Mr. James Monroe Jenkins, Jr. planned at this time.
