It’s with profound sadness that we announce the passing of
Jerry Wayne Hurst
on June 7, 2023, at the age of 75. Born in 1948, Jerry lived a life filled with joy, love, and remarkable achievements.
Jerry is lovingly survived by his daughter, Jerri Bunting and son-in-law Kenneth Bunting, his sisters, Linda Lewis and Patricia Boone, and his brother-in-laws, Jay Lewis and David Ritter. Jerry faced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife, Beverly Hurst, his brother, Clifford Hurst, and his parents, Sarah Jane and stepfather, James Shaw, with immense courage and strength.
Jerry was a man who reveled in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of the soothing taste of coffee and the heart warming melody of ‘Hello’ by Adele. His favorite mode of relaxation was immersing himself in the world of virtual reality gaming, while maintaining his health through his preferred exercise, walking.
Among his numerous accomplishments, two that stand out are the creation of the welding robot, and a push button care log for his mother, a testament to his innovative spirit and creativity. However, Jerry’s true legacy transcends his achievements. He will be remembered for his tremendous kindness and generosity. It is this legacy that his loved ones will keep alive, keeping him forever in their hearts.
Jerry W Hurst will be dearly missed by his family and all those fortunate to have known him. His captivating spirit and the invaluable life lessons he shared will continue to live on in our hearts. We bid farewell to Jerry, not with a heavy heart, but with gratitude for the precious moments spent and lessons learned in his wonderful company.
