JoAnn Gammon, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on June 30, 1936, in Hamilton, Alabama, and lived a rich life filled with creativity, love, and laughter.

JoAnn was a remarkable individual who dedicated herself not only to her career in mortgage loans but also to the beautiful artistry that spilled from her heart and hands. Her artistic talents were coupled with a strong sense of professionalism and a wonderful sense of humor.  She kept her caregivers at The Pinnacle entertained with her dancing and sweet spirit. JoAnn’s beauty and class radiated through her actions, reflecting her deep commitment to living her faith in every aspect of her life.

As a devoted mother, JoAnn created many treasured memories with her beloved daughters, Becky Tutor (Brian) and Christy Rochelle (Robert). She was known for sewing Barbie clothing for her daughter Becky for Christmas and loved spending one-on-one time with Christy after their catering events. Shopping trips with her daughters were moments filled with joy, laughter, and bonding that they will deeply cherish.

JoAnn's passions extended beyond her family. She was a talented painter and loved making soap, showcasing her crafty spirit. JoAnn took pleasure in sharing her skills through art lessons, a testament to her loving nature and desire to spread creativity. She relished in vacations and adored celebrating birthdays, surrounding herself with those she loved and her beloved dogs.

Her intimate bond with her sister was highlighted through their shared love for cruising, creating wonderful memories that neither would ever forget. JoAnn's capacity for joy and celebration helped foster connections that will resonate in the hearts of her loved ones forever.

JoAnn is lovingly remembered by her daughters, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who carry forward her legacy of love and creativity. Her life was punctuated by achievements in her art and career, but her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family and the values she instilled in them.

She now joins her parents, James and Bulah Stokes, and her late husband, Charles Raymond Gammon, along with her siblings, Bobbie Goss and Jimmy Stokes Jr., in eternal rest.
