Josephine Ann Dickson, born Chrestman
Josephine Ann Dickson, 82, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away on May 21, 2026. Born on September 11, 1943, in Knoxville, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of James Arnold Chrestman and Eleanora Jenny Salerno Chrestman of Memphis, Tennessee.
Josephine is survived by her four devoted children: Teresa Amsden and husband Patrick Amsden, Al Dickson and wife Susie Dickson, Melody King (widow of the late Archie King), and Anthony Dickson and wife Belinda Dickson. She was the proud grandmother of seven: Brandi Garrett and husband Scott Garrett, Joshua Jobes, Rebecca Montgomery and husband Morgan Montgomery, Isabella Dickson, Chloe Dickson, Ethan Dickson, and Donavan Dickson. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers James, Lawrence, Kenneth, and Thomas Chrestman.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Clois Alton Dickson, who passed in March 2023.
A loving, caring, and resilient woman, Josephine lived a full and vibrant life. She worked for over 30 years at General Electric Corporation before retiring. She and Clois shared a deep passion for adventure, riding motorcycles across the country in their younger years and taking memorable vacations to many places including North Dakota, Florida, New Orleans, and New Jersey. They loved traveling with friends and cherished their many camping and fishing trips to Sardis Lake, Enid Lake, and other beautiful spots throughout the Southeast.
Raised Catholic, she lived her faith through her actions—always putting others first, offering her time generously, and showing kindness to everyone she met. Above all, Josephine was wonderful, hilarious, and full of laughter, bringing warmth and joy to her family and friends.
She will be remembered as a sweet, giving soul who loved fiercely and lived selflessly. Josephine was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her family was her greatest treasure, and the memories she created will continue to comfort and inspire them for generations to come.
