Laura McGee, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on September 24, 2024 in Southaven, MS, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born on November 13, 1967, in Mississippi, a place that always held a special place in heart.
Laura dedicated much of her professional life to serving as a payroll clerk, first at Bud Davis Cadillac for many years and later at Landers Auto Group in Germantown. Her work ethic was admired by many, and her commitment to her roles reflected her unwavering dedication.
Known for her sweet, friendly, and outgoing personality, Laura was someone who would do anything for anyone. She was always helpful and made herself available to listen to anyone in need. Her spirit resonated with warmth, and her kindness touched the lives of countless individuals.
In her leisure time, Laura enjoyed fishing and racing, passions that brought her great joy and a sense of adventure. She also had a talent for crocheting, a hobby through which she expressed her creativity and shared warmth with her loved ones. Above all, Laura cherished the moments spent with her four grandchildren, Jasmine, Patrick, Mary Jane, and Jennedy, who were a source of immense pride and joy in her life.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Bobby McGee; her step-daughter, Barbara Sanborn (Kenny); and her step-son, Marc McGee (Sara). She leaves behind a sister, Suzanne Davis; and a brother, Grady Vasser (Brandie), who will also carry on her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Virginia (Woods) Vasser.
Laura's most profound accomplishment was her faith, as she proudly considered herself a Child of God. Her unwavering belief and spiritual strength were pillars in her life, guiding her through both joyful and challenging times.
A visitation will be held in her honor on September 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at Colonial Hills Church, located at 1225 Monteith Ave, Hernando, MS, 38632. She will be laid to rest on September 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS, 38671.
Laura McGee will be remembered not just for her accomplishments and interests, but for the love she exuded and the kindness she shared. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
