It is with immense sadness that the family of Marcia Lynn Bishop (McNeese) announces her passing after succumbing to complications caused by COVID-19 on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the age of 71 years. She was born in Memphis, TN on September 19, 1949 to Douglas McNeese, Sr. and Louise McNeese (Still) and was one of seven children.
Marcia will be affectionately remembered and missed by her loved ones near and far. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Howard Bishop of Southaven, MS; and her son Brian Bishop [Niamh Chambers] of Boston, MA. She will also be fondly remembered by her surviving siblings and their families: Carl Thompson, Doug McNeese, Jr. [Kathy], Diana Savoie [Louis], Sandra Johnson, and Deborah Morley [Jim]. Marcia was predeceased by her parents and her older sister Joanne. She had a fervent love for her entire family including all of her nieces, nephews, and their children. Her family shares their grief with a coterie of friends and extended chosen families who had the privilege to bathe in the light that Marcia shone onto the world.

She will be remembered as one who would go above and beyond for anyone and sacrifice her own comfort and happiness for the benefit of others.
Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers the family would request donations to the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases –
, or another charity working to ensure access to quality healthcare for all.
