Martha Jane George

March 17, 1931 — May 24, 2024

On May 24th, 2024, Martha Jane Staten George, age 93, passed on to be with her Heavenly Father joining those who preceded her in death; her father Jesse Lee Staten, mother Sybil Elizabeth King Staten, brother James Lee Staten and his wife Annie Jones Staten, and beloved husband Thomas Monroe George along with his brothers Joe Kenneth George and Charles William George. She leaves behind her daughter Cheryl Lynn Strawn and her husband Dudley, and her son David Brian George and his wife Lisa along with her grandchildren Jamison, Bianca and Reina as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Steadfastly committed to the care and welfare of her family as well as an ardent steward in her community and faith, she will be deeply missed among all of those whose lives she touched.

A private service will be held by her immediate family and per her wishes the family requests memorials be directed to the Seniors Ministry Business Fund at Gracewood Baptist Church, 8551 Getwell Road, Southaven MS 38672. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to all of her faithful caregivers at Pinnacle of Southaven and Spring Valley Hospice.
