Martha B. Miller

Martha B. Miller, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully at home in Southaven, Mississippi, on August 30, 2026, surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born on November 28, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and deep love for family.

Martha lived a life centered on caring for others. She was a homemaker, mother, and wife whose family was always at the heart of all she did. She also retired from Memphis Machinery and provided integral logistic support for Saunders and Associates during the expansion of the modern grocery store. In every role, she brought dedication, strength, and a servant’s heart.

Her home was the gathering place for holidays, celebrations, and everyday visits, a place where people were welcomed, fed, and loved well. She was the hub of entertainment and get-togethers, and to many she became the one who raised everyone and their children. Known affectionately as the neighborhood Nana, Martha created a life full of warmth, laughter, and belonging. She loved to feed people and loved to eat with them, making meals and shared time together one of her greatest expressions of love.

Martha found joy in traveling with family, in good food, and in music. She especially loved Bluegrass festivals and events. She played the mandolin while her husband played the banjo, and together they shared a love for music and for riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and gardening for many years. Whether on the road with loved ones, outdoors enjoying nature, or gathered around music and a table full of food, she embraced life fully and loved big.

Above all, Martha loved the Lord. She was a Christian whose steadfast faith guided her life. She carried a grateful heart for her many blessings and was known for the quiet strength of a faithful life. Her family, her children, her grandchildren, and the faith she lived each day were among her proudest accomplishments.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah McGroom and her husband, Daryl; her son, Russell Miller; her grandchild, Mitchell Miller; her granddaughter-in-law, Carrie Emerson; her great-grandchildren, Ireland Miller and Hunter Miller; and her sister, Faye Click. Also, her best friend of many decades, Evelyn Tomlinson.  Each of them carries forward the love, care, and steady presence that defined her life, and her memory will continue to live on in the family she cherished so deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Miller, Jr., , her parents, and her brother, Ray Miller. Their memory remained close to her heart, and the love they shared was an enduring part of her life’s story.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m, September 09, 2026. at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, Mississippi 38671.

Martha B. Miller will be remembered for her open home, her generous table, her music, her faith, and the way she made people feel like family. Her life was a blessing, and her love will be treasured always.
