It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Patrick Guy Plante, who departed this world on January 10, 2024. Patrick, born on November 1, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, was a beloved individual who touched the lives of many.

Patrick dedicated most of his career to working as a cabinet maker for the Atlanta Cabinet Company. His skillful craftsmanship and attention to detail made him highly regarded amongst his peers. Later on, he pursued a successful career working for himself before ultimately embracing retirement.

Beyond his professional talents, Patrick will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor. He had a knack for telling dad jokes that would elicit laughter from anyone within earshot. His infectious happiness and positive outlook on life brought joy to those around him. Patrick's desire to be the center of attention led him to entertain others with his charismatic presence, making him quite the ham!

One of Patrick's true passions in life was spending time with his family. He cherished every moment he got to share with them and eagerly taught his children how to hunt, fish, and build. As a doting father, he supported their interests and encouraged their growth. Patrick found great fulfillment in being involved in theater with his daughter, creating beautiful memories through their shared love for acting.

Patrick was known for his kind-hearted nature and his willingness to give everyone a chance. He truly believed in the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. His social demeanor allowed him to effortlessly connect with people from all walks of life.

In addition to woodworking and spending time with loved ones, Patrick had various hobbies and interests that he enjoyed throughout his life. He found solace in reading and cooking, relishing in the satisfaction that these activities provided him. On top of that, he had an artistic streak and pursued interests such as music and art. Patrick also knew how to unwind through games, finding entertainment in the virtual world.

Despite the pain he endured in his final days, Patrick fought valiantly, displaying unwavering strength and determination. His family found solace in knowing that he is now free from suffering. The memory of his courage will forever inspire them.

Patrick leaves behind a rich legacy. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends, including his daughters, Sara Zane (Chris) and Arian Plante, who were cherished treasures in his life. He also leaves behind his grandson, Wesley Cole Tippitt, and granddaughter, Ellen Nova Plante, both of whom brought boundless joy to his days.  His sisters Debbie Janaski and Kathy Rodgers, along with brothers Jeff Plante (Jean) and Greg Plante, join in grieving the loss of their beloved brother. Additionally, he will be missed dearly by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he impacted.

Patrick's passing is preceded by his brother Michael Plante, as well as his father Gerald Thomas Plante and mother Rose Marie Plante (Payne). 

In celebrating Patrick Guy Plante's life, it is important to remember the many accomplishments that made him proud. As a gymnast and diver, he showcased physical prowess that awed those who witnessed it. His musical talent brought beauty into the lives of others while allowing him an outlet for self-expression. Furthermore, Patrick's artistic endeavors left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to appreciate his talent.

Patrick Guy Plante will forever be remembered as a remarkable individual whose humor warmed our hearts and whose love knew no bounds. Though we feel the ache of his absence deeply, let us findace in the memories we shared with him. May we carry forward his spirit kindness, laughter, and zest for life as we continue our own journeys.

Patrick also enjoyed the fellowship and peace that he found while attending Minor Memorial United Methodist Church in Walls, MS and First United Methodist Church in Wiggins, MS.  He also enjoyed his fellowship with his AA members and 19 years of sobriety.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Patrick's life on a date yet be announced. Please join us as we gather together to share stories and commemorate the life of this extraordinary man.
