Patsy Ella Bugg, a beloved homemaker and community friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 82 in Phoenix, AZ. Born on July 11, 1942, in Attala, Mississippi, Patsy carried her roots with her throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Patsy's warm demeanor and infectious sense of humor attracted many to her. She was known to be funny, wild, and informal, creating an atmosphere that made everyone feel welcome. Her laid-back, easy-going personality, combined with her tough spirit, allowed her to navigate life’s challenges while maintaining a positive outlook. Even in her most personal struggles, she offered kindness and warmth to those around her. Patsy had a special talent for making friends and enriching her community with her vibrant spirit.
A proud mother, Patsy always supported her children, encouraging them to explore their identities and grow organically. She extended that same love and support to her grandchildren, Alura Bugg, Vanessa Tanner, and Danny Reynolds. Each grandchild brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished her time spent with them.
Patsy completed her Associate's Degree, reflecting her commitment to education and growth. She applied her considerable talents in many areas, notably displaying a green thumb and an exceptional bedside manner as a great EMT. Her ability to connect with animals and nurture plants spoke volumes about her nurturing and caring nature.
Patsy is survived by her son Carl (Meri) Bugg, stepdaughter Kimberly Bugg Reynolds, sister Joanna Hansborough, grandchildren, Alura Bugg, Vanessa (Tommy) Reynolds, and Daniel Reynolds and her cherished cat Boots. She leaves behind a network of close family friends, including Catherine Flynn, Wayne Scott, Scott and Janet Malone and their families, who held her dear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Louise Pullen and Wilson Carl Briscoe; her spouse, Marvin Bugg; and her brother, Harold Briscoe. Patsy fought bravely throughout her life and in her final days, exemplifying the strength and resilience that defined her character.
Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her family and friends will remember her as a beacon of light, whose laughter and support made the world a brighter place.
