Patsy Jean Hare, affectionately known as Grandma Patsy, was born on July 19, 1940, in Corinth, Mississippi. She peacefully departed this world on June 16, 2025, leaving behind a rich tapestry of love and cherished memories in Southaven, Mississippi.

Patsy’s career reflects her nurturing spirit; she retired early to devote herself wholeheartedly to her family, playing an integral role in raising her grandchildren with an abundance of love. Her dedication to her family was evident in everything she did, making sure they felt secure and cherished. The laughter and warmth she fostered within her home highlighted her profound impact as a loving grandmother, mother, and friend.

Patsy was a woman with an adventurous soul, delighting in the joy of travel with her daughter and grandchildren. Each vacation was not just a journey, but a creation of lifelong memories, where her love for exploring emerged alongside her love for her family. She had a vibrant personality, characterized by her sweet disposition, and never spoke ill of anyone, always choosing to see the best in those around her. Her infectious spirit extended beyond her family; she was deeply involved in her church community, reflecting her unwavering faith.

In addition to being a devoted family member and beloved friend, Patsy had a multitude of passions. She thrived on shopping excursions, relished the tranquility of reading, and enjoyed engaging games. Swimming, camping, and biking added to her list of joys, showcasing her enthusiastic approach to life. Her adventures were a testament to her lively spirit and a reflection of her belief in embracing life to the fullest.

Patsy holds dear the memories of her beloved spouse, Clyde Hare, whose love she cherished throughout their life together. She proudly raised her children, including her late daughter, Paula Ethridge, and took great joy in her grandchildren: Jake Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Laura Ethridge, and Tatum Ethridge. Patsy is also remembered fondly by her surviving daughter, Pamela Hare Johnson, and son-in-law, Mark Johnson, along with her brother, James Roland McCreary, and a host of other family members.

Her joyful legacy lives on in all those she touched. A visitation will be held on June 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in a burial service taking place at 2:00 PM that same day at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
