Rose Marie Brock Loftis Yates

February 12, 1939 — April 1, 2026

Southaven, MS

Rose Marie Brock Loftis Yates, affectionately known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Mom-Mom," passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, in Olive Branch, Mississippi, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 12, 1939, in West, Mississippi, Rose Marie was a cherished soul whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.

Rose Marie's journey began in West, MS, where she graduated from high school before attending Holmes Junior College. In 1960, following her marriage, she embraced a new chapter by moving to the Memphis area. She became one of the pioneering families to settle in Southaven, Mississippi, proudly standing as one of the original families in the community.

A woman of remarkable intellect and strength, Rose was feisty and fiercely professional. She carried herself with punctuality and a sharp mind, never hesitating to embrace life’s adventure with spontaneity and a joyful heart that never minded stepping into a bit of trouble. She was a devoted believer in Jesus, anchoring her life in faith and grace.

Her career was equally distinguished. Rose began as a legal secretary and district administrator for Dictaphone, demonstrating her keen organizational skills and dedication. However, it was her passion for real estate that defined much of her professional legacy. For over 30 years, she thrived as a real estate broker—a role in which she found her greatest happiness and pride.

Beyond her work, Rose had a rich tapestry of interests that added color to her days. She was renowned as a truly gifted cook, enchanting those around her with delicious meals born from love and skill. In her younger years, she found joy in painting and creating ceramics, embracing the artistic expressions of her heart. The quiet moments of playing solitaire also brought her peace and reflection. But more than all her talents, it was her smile, thoughtfulness, and breathtakingly beautiful blue eyes that remain vivid in the hearts of all who loved her.

Rose’s family was her greatest treasure. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bill Brock and Eloise Brock, her dear brother Billy B.B. Brock, and Jim Loftis, the father of her children. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Ken (Kathy) Loftis and David Loftis; grandchildren Kenny (Amy) Loftis and Ricky (Courtney) Loftis; and great-grandchildren Madison Loftis, Savannah Walton, Jack Loftis, and Rylee Loftis. Also sharing in her enduring love is Sandra Ragland, her sitter who became her best friend, along with a host of other family and friends who were blessed by her presence.

The community will honor Rose with a visitation at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on April 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Another visitation will be held the following day, April 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at West Baptist Church located at 255 Green St., West, MS. The funeral service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at West Cemetery at 3:15 p.m. on the same day.

Rose Marie Brock Loftis Yates’ life was a testament to grace through strength, intelligence, and love. Her radiant smile, her caring heart, and her spirited nature will forever live on in the memories of those privileged to know her. Though she has departed from this world, Rose will continue to embrace and inspire her family and friends for years to come.
