With profound reverence and deep affection, we commemorate the extraordinary life of Truman Terrell Wallace, known affectionately by many as “Tru-man.” He departed this life on July 27, 2026, in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 45. Born on December 7, 1980, in Memphis, Tennessee, Truman graced this world with a singular spirit—musically gifted, thoughtfully visionary, and guided always by kindness, humility, and passionate purpose.

Music was never a mere pastime for Truman; it was a calling woven into every fiber of his being. He was an excellent drummer—indeed, a musical prodigy whose hands shaped rhythms as effortlessly as his spirit fostered connections. He performed and composed an inspiring album, penned the heartfelt book I Didn't Think it Would Affect Me This Way, and developed Trus'Tee Productions, a music business dedicated to elevating voices and stories. Through these endeavors, he showed both a rare courage and an abiding generosity, bringing light and hope to all who heard his work.

Yet, perhaps Truman’s most defining legacy lies in his service to others. Driven by an unyielding belief in the power of community and compassion, he founded and led the TRU-MAN Center of Hope, a non-profit organization devoted to using music and art to help teens with disabilities. As a great mentor and life coach, he empowered both youth and adults to envision brighter futures, imparting wisdom, truth, and steadfast encouragement. He gave freely of his talents in philanthropy, always striving to make the world more just, kind, and nurturing—a legacy that will endure for generations.

Truman lived his days with remarkable distinction—a minimalist in his ways, outspoken in his convictions, helpful and straightforward, and always “one of a kind.” He told the truth without reservation, seeking always to mend, inspire, and guide. He relished simple pleasures in life: the camaraderie of “church hopping Sundays” in Grandma’s Corolla, savoring strawberries and delicious meals, and maintaining a sense of self-respect in his appearance. Vacations, cruises, and travel enriched his horizons, while time spent with family remained his true delight.

Among his proudest accomplishments, he cherished not only his wife, children, sister, nieces and nephews, extended family, musical brethren and his non-profit foundation, but also his membership as a Mason and his ambassadorship of the Southaven Chamber of Commerce.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at New Salem MB Church, both occasions where friends and family may gather to honor this remarkable man’s life and legacy.

As we mourn Truman Terrell Wallace’s physical absence, we also celebrate the enduring melodies he composed in so many lives—the legacy of hope, compassion, and harmony that will continue to resonate through all who knew and loved him.
