Amber Cook Johnson was born on June 10, 1986 to Larry Dean Cook and Bridgette Saint Cook. She departed this earthly life on September 5, 2017.

She was a graduate of Southaven High School in Southaven, Mississippi. Amber proudly served her country as an Information Technology Specialist for the United States Army from 2009 to current. She provided valuable technical support to our military command helping to defend our nation. While serving abroad in South Korea she met and married her husband, Virgil E. Johnson II. Then reassigned to Ft Campbell Kentucky, she was deployed to Afghanistan for a combat tour for one year.

Amber was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Cook; sister, Ashley Cook; and brother, Joshua Cook.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Virgil E. Johnson II; mother, Bridgette Saint Cook; paternal grandmother, Rosie Lee Cook; two brothers, Jonathan (Lacie) Cook and Jeremiah Cook; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Suzette Johnson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Valicia Johnson and Vaniece (Neal) Zalva; three aunts; and a host of nephews and cousins.

Amber’s loving, passionate, and nurturing spirit will forever be engrained in the hearts of every person she’s ever met. Although her untimely death came without warning, we know our Heavenly Father has a divine plan for her. We’ll yearn for her infectious humor and keen insight and will never forget how her presence commanded a room. Amber, you will always be remembered and until we all meet again… Rest in eternal peace.
