Douglas Lee Brister, 65, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 in Southaven, Mississippi. Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671) immediately following a service. Internment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Doug Lee Brister was born on September 3, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was part of Teamster Union which was an organization of transportation of trucks that he worked for. Doug loved cars, all sort of them. His favorite type if music was rock. Doug was a creative man and would use his abilites to build almost anything. He was a profectionist. Most of all Doug was a family man. He loved being able to spend time with his family and friends. Doug Lee will truly be missed by the closest friends and family.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Vickii Brister; children, Michael Lee Brister, Marcus Lee (Heather) Brister, Ashley Danielle Brister, Jamie (Patrick) Shaw, and Clay (Lindley) Carpenter; grandchildren, Maelee Annison Brister, Chase Walter Lee Brister, Sawyer Carpenter, Asher Carpenter, Jace Carpenter, Erin McMinn and Natalie Shaw; mother, Edna Brister; sisters, Neva Crow and Donna Davis; sister in law, Cindy Brister; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Doug Lee Brister is preceded in death by his father, James Winfred Brister, Sr.; and brother, James “Jimmy” Winfred Brister, Jr.
