Mr. Allen Criss Whitman, 68, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away on January 21, 2018. He was born May 27, 1949 in Bruce, MS to Eulice Elbert and Ruby Whitman. He was an over the road truck driver, who was able to visit most of the United States during his truck driving years. Mr. Whitman enjoyed playing different types of music during his young adulthood and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He was a Mason of the York Rite Masonry as well as a member of the Wahabi Shriners and Coffeeville Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Whitman is survived by his wife, Diane Whitman; one son, Daniel Moore and his wife Michelle; one brother, Ronnie Whitman and his wife Beverly; three sister-in-laws, Deborah Williams, Shelia Nichols, and Teresa Penny; two granddaughters, Adelynn Moore and Lilly Moore. Mr. Whitman also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulice Elbert and Ruby Whitman; and sister, Rita Whitman.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and memorials in honor of Mr. Allen Criss Whitman, be made to the American Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 15829; Arlington, VA 22215).
Services are going to be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Visitation begins at 10:00 A.M. and the funeral service following at 12:00 P.M. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, 290 Goodman Rd. E., Southaven, MS, 38671. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery, 8704 CR 82, Coffeeville, MS 38922.
