Andrew Louis Griffin Jr., passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, in Southaven, Mississippi at the age of 76 years old. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. On Friday, May 19, 2023, Visitation will continue at 11:00am, followed by a Memorial service in his honor at 12:00pm. All services will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road E., Southaven, MS, 38671.
Andrew Louis Griffin Jr. was born on September 21, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee to Andrew Louis Sr. and Viola Deloris Griffin in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a retired US Air Force (SSgt/E-5); served with GSA (General Service Administration) for 35 years. He had a passion for music. He was “the coolest DJ around.” Andrew loved all modern-day technology, especially his online social groups (sl and pal talk). Andrew had a love for many things but above all things, he loved his family.
Andrew leaves behind his loving wife of nine years; Azalee J. Griffin, four children; Sharon Kendrick (Kevin Kendrick), Kevin Griffin (Jeanette Guevara) , Justin Tilford, Selina Johnson (Anthony Johnson), four Grandchildren; Keonte “Hollywood” Kendrick, Cheyanne “Smiley” Kendrick, Isabelle ” Izzy ” Kendrick, Gabrielle “Gabbie” Johnson, two Great-grandchildren: Tayden & Tylin Johnson, three siblings; Sandra Watkins, Amelia Griffin, Larry Tilford and nine other special family members; Tia Robinson-Diaz, Stephanie & Willie Alofaituli, Tihitia, Robert, Chris, Simone, T.J., Terence
Andrew was predeceased by his parents; Andrew L. Griffin Sr. & Viola D. Burton (Young), Andrew Tilford(man who raised him), brother; Michael Tilford & grandson Corey Jackson.
