Austin Sloan Buford

Austin Sloan Buford, age 82, of Oxford, MS, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Memphis, TN on July 28, 1940 to the late Charles and Nelle (Holloway) Buford.
Sloan retired from the Hershey Company, was a member of College Hill Heights Baptist Church in Oxford, MS, and previously a member of Silerton Baptist Church in Silerton, TN. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, karaoke, dancing, and football. His favorite teams were Ole Miss and the St. Louis Cardinals.
In addition to his mother, Sloan is preceded in death by his sisters Donna Sue Buford and Betty Jane Dawkins.
Sloan will be remembered by his wife of five years, Wanda (Belvin) Buford, daughters Lee Ann Mueller (Robie) and Mary Nelle Whittington (Robert), Lori Vaughn (Tracy), son Jeffrey Miller (Paula), grandchildren Matt (Carley), Meredith (Noah), Jackie, and Robbie (Eric), great-grandchildren Nathanial and Emerson, and a special nephew, Peyton Hughes.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Silerton Baptist Church, 255 Fitts Lane, Silerton, TN 38340 from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Silerton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to Silerton Baptist Church.
