Clois Alton Dickson

Clois Alton Dickson, 83, of Southaven, MS, passed away on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023.

Clois was born the second of five children on July 29th, 1939, to Lowell Thedford Dickson and Daisy Lee Dickson in Luxora, AR. As a child, Clois’ family moved to Memphis, TN. After he left Kingsbury High School in 1957, Clois joined the United States Air Force in 1958. Clois would go on to become a highly skilled jet engine mechanic and serve his country proudly in the Air Force and Air Force reserves for 8 years.

After an honorable discharge in 1966, he started his career at General Electric Corporation where he would work until his retirement at age 55.

During his career at G.E., Clois met and married the love of his life Josephine Ann Chrestman of Memphis, TN. Clois and JoAnn would reside in Southaven MS for, until his passing.

Clois and JoAnn spent 50 happy years together fishing, camping, going on trips together and spending time with family. Clois loved to spend time in his garage building and repairing anything and everything you could think of. Anytime any of his kids or friends needed anything worked on or fixed, or any kind of part or tool you could always find it in Dad’s garage.

Clois was a devoted father, a loving husband, and a loyal friend.

Clois was predeceased by his father Lowell T. Dickson, his mother Daisy Lee Dickson, his sister Freeda Clark wife of James Clark, his sister Linda Dickson and his brother Lavon Dickson. He is survived by his wife Josephine (JoAnn) Dickson, his sister Sheila Adair, his children Teresa Amsden and husband Pat Amsden, Melody King and her late husband Archie King, Clois Alton (AL) Dickson Jr. and his wife Susie Dickson and Anthony Dickson and his wife Belinda Dickson. Clois is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandi Garrett and her husband Scott Garrett, Joshua Jobes, Rebecca Montgomery and her husband Morgan Montgomery, Isabella Dickson, Chloe Dickson, Ethan Dickson, and Donavan Dickson. Clois was also survived by his great grand children Caleb Garrett, Camillia Garrett, Cadence Garrett and Cooper Garrett.
A Memorial Service in his Honor will be held on Monday, April, 17, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.,  at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road E., Southaven, MS, 38671
