DALE EUGENE SMITH, 67, retired truck driver, was born March 30, 1949 in Portageville, MO and passed away April 12, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, MS. Heis survived by four sons, Stephen Charles Smith, Kevin Dale Smith, Chris Carlisle, and David Eugene Smith; one daughter, Margie Watkins; three brothers, Charles Ralph Smith, Don Smith, and Michael Harold Smith; two sisters, Charlotte Bobby Massie and Vanessa Kay Peterson; one half-brother, James Alexander Smith; one half-sister, Claudia Smith Anthony; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Smith; parents, “Pete” and “Bragma” Smith; and one brother, Everett Wayne Smith. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Cedar View Church in Olive Branch, MS. The service will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Burial will follow in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Southaven. The family requests that any memorials be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
