Dorothy “Dot” Nell Winkler

June 3, 1945 — September 17, 2022

Dorothy “Dot” Nell Winkler, 77, of Southaven, MS, formerly of Memphis, TN passed away September 17, 2022.

Dorothy was a graduate of South Side High School and retired from Baptist Women’s Hospital in Memphis, TN where she was employed for twenty-four years. Most of those years were spent in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where she was the Unit Coordinator.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Winkler of Southaven, MS; daughter, Maria Robinson and her husband Michael of Lakeland, TN; son, Kenny Plunk and his wife Deborah of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Kaleb Plunk of Denton, TX, Nolan Robinson and his wife Audra of Bryant, AR, Laurel Plunk of Portland, OR and Alex Robinson of Lakeland, TN; brother James “Jim” Briggs and his wife Jewel of Hendersonville, TN; sisters-in-law, Laura Briggs of Poquoson, VA and Barbara Briggs of Pensacola, FL.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Brock Barber of Greenfield, TN; father, Sam Jones Briggs Jr. of Memphis, TN; brothers, Robert “Bob” Briggs of Hendersonville, TN and Sam “Buddy” Briggs of Poquoson, VA.

There will be a memorial held in her honor on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM followed by a service and interment at 1:00PM.
