My deepest sympathies for your loss. Doug was the interim general manager at the Quail Hollow Resort in Painesville, OH after Packard took over managing the hotel. In my tenure with the resort, I experienced a plethora of general managers and I say with total honesty that Doug was the best manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He would jump in and help any way necessary, from answering phones at the front desk with my team, to plating food in the kitchen, folding laundry and even shoveling snow! I will never forget him and what he taught me about being a good manager.

I will greatly miss my best friend Doug. He was the big brother I never had. I will forever treasure the great times we had together from being kids in 1970 to our adult years. Through all those years whether it was football, basketball, baseball, golf, fishing, or just having a good time, I always learned something from Doug. Be strong and remember the good times we had with Doug. That’s all he would want from us.

We are so sorry to hear about Doug. I wish I had known he was ill. He found me on FB two or three years ago and called me. I am trying to find out how to get in touch with Duffy. Lin and I are still in the same place. Please call us!

Doug, his brother Duffy, and their sweet Mom, brought so much to those of us at HBA who were fortunate enough to know them. I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing. I hope those who were close to him will find comfort in the memories that you share. Nothing can take them away:) May God Bless and Comfort you all…The Cross Family
