Flora Miles, 90, of Horn Lake, Mississippi passed away on February 25, 2019 in Southaven, MS. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 starting at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 12:00 p.m also at Twin Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Paster Donald McCaster will officiate. Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Flora Miles was born on December 12, 1928 to the union of the late Mr. Nixon & Mrs. Blanche Horne in Osceola, Arkansas. She was a resident of Horn Lake, Mississippi until she was called home on February 25, 2019. She lived 90 wonderful years. Flora enjoyed many pastimes, some of them included, listening to music, gazing upon flowers, and watching some of her favorite shows. Her favorite shows were Bold and the Beautiful and Westerns. Above all things, Flora loved her family. She was the best mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt anyone could ever ask for. She was the ultimate caregiver. She loved being in the presence of her family where she was surrounded by love and happiness. When it came to family gatherings; holidays or birthdays she was always there. She was someone you could count on. Flora was the type of person you could count on when you were in need. There was no problem too big or small, she would always make them go away. Flora cherished all the memories made with her family and friends and she will be truly be missed.
Flora leaves to cherish her memories; her children, Elbert Murray, Mary (Roger) Toussaint, Terry Galloway, Beth Williams, Calvin (Darlene) Galloway, Carol (Andre) Pennix, Arness Galloway, and Clinton (Tracy) Galloway; brothers, Preston & Richard Horne; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to cherish her memories, Flora leaves a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nixon & Blanche Horne; her son, Robert J. Galloway; former husbands, Robert Galloway & Robert Miles; brothers, Nixon Horne Jr., Plummer Horne, and Jeremiah Horne; and sisters, Nellie Miles, Evelyn Foxworth, & Nina Harris.
