JAMES MILTON “JIMMY” DEES, JR November 8, 1948 - June 17, 2015

Southaven, MS –

JAMES MILTON “JIMMY” DEES, JR., 66, avionics technician, was born November 7, 1948 in Henderson, TN to the late James Milton Dees, Sr. and Mary Jo Smith Dees and passed away June 17, 2015 at his home.  He retired from FedEx after more than 25 years of service, was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war, and a member of the VFW in Southaven.  Mr. Dees was active in the Special Olympics and Fusion Baseball.  He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda Dees; three daughters, Jennifer Jackson (Steve), Lori Sides (Daniel), and Leigh-Anne Stanley (Wade); four sisters, Joette Chambers (Dennis), Judy Johnson (Charlie), Janet Eshnaur (Tony), and Joy Posey (Jerry); and five grandchildren, Hannah Sides, Nick Sides, Nash Jackson, Cole Jackson, and Adalyn Stanley.  Visitation will be Monday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Special Olympics www.specialolympics.org or the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org; however, if you send flowers, please send a bouquet or a potted plant.

    Ditto what cousin Chaundra said. We rarely saw one another because of the miles between us. But there will always be fond memories. Alvin joins our other cousins who passed before him, Jimmy Parker, Eddie Bowlin, and Jerry Parker.
