I will never forget my days with Mrs. Jan. The most patient loving teacher I had the honor of meeting and adoring. She always had the sweetest heart, the quirkiest way of teaching, almost like we were her kids and not her students. I still remember my year with her the most, even dating back to day one of kindergarten. I’m 24 now, and I have always had her in the back of my mind. She was truly the most genuine teacher I have had through my years of schooling. Now, she’s gained her wings and become an angel (as if she wasn’t one to begin with).

I met your mother when she came to live at Fox Ridge in WLR. We met days before I moved my mom there. I enjoyed many pleasant conversations with Jan and was so grateful for her friendship with my mom. It gave me a sense of peace knowing the Lord had provided someone like your mom to befriend my mom, who suffered from dementia and was often fearful of unfamiliar faces. Jan was very understanding and compassionate. She and my mom had their love for the Lord in common. I would often find her in my mom’s apartment, the two of them talking like old friends.

My sincere condolences to you all,
    Mary Jensen

We are sad to hear of Jan’s passing but rejoice that she is with the Lord. I worked with her when I was a new teacher in Thailand. I admired her greatly, especially for her ability to teach the Bible and for her love for the children. I will remember her smile. May the Lord comfort you in your loss.

I just heard the news of your moms passing. I’m thinking of all of you as you grieve and celebrate her life! My mind became flooded with many fun memories in our growing up years! Your mom always loved on me and was so much fun! I can hear her sweet voice in my head right now. Christy and I were always up to something, so I’m sure she dreaded when I came over. So sorry I wasn’t able to visit your mom in recent years! She was a blessing to me and I will cherish the memories! Thanking God she isn’t suffering anymore and is rejoicing at the feet of Jesus!

    Much Love,

    Melissa Hartmann Mooney
