Jeffrey Wayne Newton

June 5, 1971 — June 5, 2020

Jeffrey Wayne Newton, 49, passed away on his birthday, Friday, June 5, 2020.  Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jeff was born in 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS, where he had been active with special friends program, Four Friends. He made many friends through this program.

He was involved for many years with the Horn Lake Parks and Recreation playing baseball, then coaching his three boys when they started playing.  Nothing pleased him more than watching his three sons play ball and coaching them.

Most of Jeff’s career was in heating and air conditioning.  In his spare time, Jeff was an avid fisherman and deer hunter.  Although he enjoyed many things in life, nothing came close to the love he had for his boys.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Barbara Newton Pollard and his “bonus” dad, George Pollard; sons Tyler, Zachary, and Alan Newton; brothers, Donnie Bishop and James Newton; sister, Robin Ballard and niece, Tessa Ballard; and bonus brother, Jonathan Pollard.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Larry Newton; grandparents, Lillian and Braden Van Winkle, and Ann and J.O. Newton.

The Celebration of Life for Jeff will be Tuesday morning, June 9, at Longview Heights Baptist Church beginning with visitation at 10:00 and service to be at 11:30. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials +be made to Four Friends Ministry at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654.

Jeff will be greatly missed for the unconditional love he gave others, his smile that lit up a room, the jokes that he always had ready, and his hugs that gave comfort and strength to others.
