Joan Ruth Milam passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the age of 87 in Southaven, Mississippi. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 01, 2023, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00pm, Interment will immediately follow, all services will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road E., Southaven, MS, 38671.
Joan Ruth Milam was born on December 1st, 1935, to the parents of Willie and Ruth Butler in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the wife of Paul Edward Milam Sr. until his passing of 54 wonderful years. She was very intelligent and funny. She spent her working years as a secretary at Illinois Central Railroad until her retirement at 30 years. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Friend.
She leaves behind two sons, Paul Milam Jr. (Angie) and Martin E. Milam (Heidi), one grandchild, Katelyn Nicole Bain (Curtis), two great grandchildren, Justin Wayne Bain & Westin Levee Bain and two brothers, Richard & Gene Butler.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul Edward Milam Sr., parents Willie and Ruth Butler & three brothers: William, Thomas, and Raymond Butler.
The family has requested that all flowers or floral arrangements be sent to the funeral home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS, 38671.

You will be so missed, but we all know you opened your eyes and took your first breath in Heaven. What a celebration that must have been.
