Joyce Ransom McKell

, 78, departed this life on September 21, 2016 at LifePointe Village at Southaven.  Joyce was the daughter of William R. “Willie” and Juanita Manley “Dolly” Ransom.  She was born December 13, 1937 in Memphis, TN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Vernis Mae Rikard; her brother, David Lee Ransom; and her beloved son, William Christopher McKell.  She attended Levi School and graduated from Whitehaven High School with the Class of ’55.  She first worked at Sears Crosstown and with several law firms in both Memphis and Horn Lake, MS.  Joyce leaves her beloved husband of 53 years, James P. “Jim” McKell; her son, James Michael McKell and his wife, Terri; her daughter, Juanita Kaye Cook; and two grandsons, Paul Keith “PJ” Cook, Jr. and James Tyler “Ty” McKell.  The family will receive visitors Friday, September 23 from

3 p.m.

until the service begins at

4 p.m.

at Twin Oaks Funeral Home on Goodman Road in Southaven.  Burial will follow in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
