Marlyn Speck 73, went home on Thursday, January 23, 2020. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 27, 2020 starting at 1:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS). Internment will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133). Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Marlyn Speck was born on September 27, 1946 in New Albany, MS. One of Marlyn’s favorite things were humming birds, she thought they were so beautiful and would loved to just gaze at them. Most will remember her as the best mother and grandmother that has ever existed. She was the greatest grandmother, to many, any child could ask for. She will be greatly missed for the unconditional love she gave, the smile that lit up a room, and the hugs that gave comfort and strength.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bobby Speck; children, Melissa (Ricky) Furnish, and Jerry Speck; grandchildren, Nikki (Archie) Davis, Joey McCammon, Corey McCammon, Josh McCammon, Aliene Reeves, Casey Speck, and Daniel Speck; great-grandchildren, Gage Davis, Aubree McCammon, Ella Davis, Brantley McCammon, Emree Brooks, and Sawyer Brooks; sisters, Freida Jordan and Connie Dunlap; and sister-in-law, Brenda Campbell-Mills.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Laney and Hazel Roberts; and grandson, James Speck.
