Patsy Sue Rush Floyd

Mrs. Patsy Sue Rush Floyd, 84, of Southaven, MS, left this world for her heavenly home on Saturday, March 10, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. To know Patsy was to love her. Her entire life revolved around her family and friends. She cherished the times spent making memories with them. Pat was a member of a Monday night sewing group, who became her dearest friends. She loved to sew quilts and would often give away as many quilts as she kept. Pat loved to sew clothing for children. She also used her talent for making burial gowns which she donated to local hospitals for families of stillborn infants. On Friday evenings, she would often gather with family and friends to play cards, and she liked to win. Pat loved to bake and was known for her homemade pies, angel food cake, chocolate chip cookies and fried apricot pies. Some of her last words were, “After I go home, look up, smile, and think of me when you’re happy!”. Pat’s legacy will continue to live on through the many memories she has made with family and friends.

Pat leaves behind her loving husband of sixty-three years, Tony R. Floyd of Southaven; one daughter, Stacy Lee Floyd Sinquefield of Ridgeland, MS; three sons, Michael Ray Floyd of New York, NY, Gregory Rush Floyd (Aimee) of Southaven, and Eric Clay Floyd (Jeanne) of Old Hickory, TN; three sisters, Betty Sharp (Don) of Murfreesboro, TN, Carolyn Gwin of Bartlett, TN, and Donna Tackett of Knoxville, TN; three grandsons, Robert Sinquefield of Oxford, MS, Blake Floyd of Southaven, and Alex Sinquefield of Oxford; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Floyd of Southaven, and Kassidy Floyd of Southaven. Mrs. Floyd also leaves behind a host of loving friends, who were more like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Gladys Rush.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and memorials in honor of Mrs. Patsy Sue Rush Floyd, be made to the Southaven First United Methodist Church (723 Star Landing Rd E; Southaven, MS 38672).

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Southaven First United Methodist Church (723 Star Landing Rd E; Southaven, MS 38672) with a celebration of life following at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel.
