Raymond Lewis Wilson

July 27, 1955 — February 15, 2023

Raymond Lewis Wilson of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on February 15, 2023 at the age of 67.  He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Raymond was born in Memphis, TN on July 27, 1955, the third oldest of five children to Roy Leo Wilson and Juanita Dellinger.  After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served overseas.  After being honorably discharged from the Army, Ray went back to school earning multiple bachelor’s degrees.  Over the next 30+ years, Raymond ran his own automotive shop (REA Automotive), drove 18 wheelers, and was a diesel mechanic at the time of his retirement in 2019.  Raymond was married to his loving wife, Sandra, for 20 years, and they were together for 22.  Ray lived for his family, especially his two grandchildren that were his world.  Ray also loved spending time with his 16-year-old dog Mean-Girl, who he would take everywhere like she was a child.  Some of his other hobbies were building RC cars, coin collecting, collecting old radios, fishing, eating crawfish, Ole Miss football, St.  Louis Cardinals baseball, and helping people.  He never told anyone no.  He was the definition of selfless.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Juanita, as well as his half-brother, Roy Jr.  He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his children, Jeremy Wilson of Greenville, SC, Erik (Lauren) Wilson of Atoka, TN, William House of Olive Branch, MS, and Loryn House of Olive Branch, MS; two grandchildren, Anna and Harris Wilson; one sister, Mary (Mike) Waterbury; three brothers, Johnny (Tina) Wilson, Jamie (Vicki) Wilson, and Chuck (Ellen) Wilcox; four nieces, Rhonda (Randy) Hudgings, Pam (Matt) Sawyer, Jamie Wilson Brock, and Jennifer (Kyle) Cleveland; his loving in-laws, Gene (Charlotte) Lewis, Peggy (Blake) Gearin, and Hunter (Sara) Gearin; as well as five great nephews and two great nieces, one half-brother, Kevin, two half-sisters Donna and Tonya, numerous cousins, and friends that he considered family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.
