Richard Dennis Lusk, Sr. left this world suddenly on Saturday, the 17thof April, 2021. Dennis, affectionately dubbed “Mutt” by his grandchildren, spent his life devoted to taking care of his family and loved ones. He routinely put the needs of those he loved above the needs of his own without hesitation, never needing or wanting anything in return. He married his high school sweetheart at the age of 19 and together they had two children. Mutt loved a well-manicured lawn, history, and most of all his grandkids. He would take every opportunity to pick up “caprises” for Peyton and Rowan to spoil them as many grandparents are known to do. He loved to tinker in the garage and was mechanically inclined, generally opting to take the DIY route for projects large and small.
He is preceded in death by his father James Edward Lusk and his daughter Natalie Christine Lusk, and is survived by his wife Cindy, son Richard, daughter-in-law Chelsea, grandchildren Peyton and Rowan, mother Pauline, brothers James and Dale, and sister Anne Hughey.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, the 22nd of April, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service following immediately thereafter at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671).
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on his behalf.
