Ruth Eyelyn Maness

RUTH EYELYN MANESS, age 88 of Southaven, Mississippi joined her family in Heaven on Saturday, May 23, at 5:23 in the Morning, 2020.
Ruth, or Evelyn, as she preferred to be called, was born on August 8, 1931, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Jerome and Sarah Kathleen Butler.
Evelyn, was a precocious child and a great beauty, who lived to give her brothers and sisters trouble. Evelyn was a stay-at-home MOM, taxi driver for her 3 children, and wife to her husband George. She did a stint as a Cafeteria Lady, so she could follow her youngest, Michael, through his school years.
Evelyn loved to read and play cards, and did so as often as possible. For a few years she was involved in the Sunrise Charities for Homeless girls. In her later years she became known as “MOM” the luckiest lady on the internet with all her Slot machine wins. “MOM” was Fun ! She had Fun, and joined her youngest at many social events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Maness, 2 brothers JB and Norris, and 2 sisters Mary and Elizabeth.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Rita Robinson, George, and his wife Chrissy, and Michael, her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Family recognizes the current health situation has placed constraints on the process of saying goodbye. Currently only 10 people are allowed in the chapel and 20 people at the graveside service, in addition to this requirement we also understand that many people are reluctant to attend any public gathering.
Evelyn, will be joining her husband, and her mother with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 290 Goodman Road, Southaven, Mississippi on Monday , May 25, 2020. Celebration of Her Life will be on Wednesday Night, May 27, beginning around 6 PM at Michael P Maness’s 7658 Millbridge Drive, Southaven, Ms.
