Sally Ann Sykes, 80, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019, in her home in Southaven, Mississippi. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Desoto Hills Baptist Church (4680 Getwell Rd, Southaven, MS 38672 ). A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sally Sykes was born on December 6, 1939 in Holladay, Tennessee. She enjoyed many things in life including; playing cards at the senior center, gardening and reading. Sally was absolutely wrapped around her grandbabies fingers. She loved and would do anything for them. Sally was a faithful member of Desoto Hills Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Sally will truly be missed by all dear friends and loving family.
Ms Sykes is survived by her step-daughter, Jan (Michael Cardillo); 2 granddaughters, Stephine (JT) Toten, and Becca Robertson; sisters, Mary Lou Malin and Anita Wright; brother, Charles Franks; and a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Sarah Mams.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles Hemphill Sykes; parents, Earl Abner and Gertrude Franks; brothers, Robert Franks, Kenneth Franks, and Jack Franks; and sister, Juanice Souca.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude (stjude.org) or to any charity of choice.
