Sarah Margaret Melton

Sarah Margaret “Margie” Melton, age 79, of Nesbit, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. She was born in Mannington, WV on February 1, 1943 to the late Lester and Margaret Gene (Carr) Handley.
Sarah was previously a member of First Baptist Church of Southaven where she played the organ and piano. She was also a Teacher’s Aide at Horn Lake Intermediate for many years. She loved watching TV and old movies, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she loved to laugh.
In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, James Melton, sister Carolyn Barker, and her dear aunt who was like a sister to her, Sarah Mobley.
Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her children, Richard Barclay (Lynette), Jay Barclay (Robyn), James Barclay (Melissa), Rhonda Gatlin (Griff), and Mary Ellen Staggs (Ronnie), 11 children, and three great-grandchildren, sisters Sheila Barker, Shirley Couts, and Alice Hosaflook, and brothers Mark Handley and Michael David Handley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
